An integral part of the VANLAND project is to facilitate the screening of short films made in the workshops to a wider community.
This happens through village based multi-media events such as Time Trip in Christow (see VANLAND - VISIONSWITCH), Village Screen a series of young people led screening events and also through continuous public screenings in the extraordinary VANLAND caravan.

After years of touring the muddy fields and narrow lanes of Devon the VANLAND caravan has been retired to a static but still very active life as part of Organic Arts at West Town Farm, Ide. But you can find out all about its previous journeying below.

The VANLAND caravan

It may look like something you tow to your favourite seaside location, but VANLAND's touring 2 berth caravan is far from ordinary on the inside. Films made in the VANLAND workshops are installed into this Eldis Mistral GTX which has been specially adapted to contain eight different viewing stations, screening single and multi channel films in different combinations - projected onto windows, hidden in overhead lockers, secreted in the shower room...

Every summer between 2004-07 the amazing VANLAND caravan has been touring local Devon fetes fairs and events show casing the work of young Teignbridge Film makers.

Documentary, soap opera, video diary and epic landscape drama; views of familiar landscapes seen through the eyes of the young people who live in rural Teignbridge. VANLAND is a travelling art installation, a short film festival, a site-specific performance and a home from home.

Entrance is Free.
