VANLAND was conceived as an innovative digital media project aimed at giving the young people of rural Teignbridge a voice through developing the skills of creative video making. To do this, the project emphasizes the importance of screening of the young people's finished work to their wider communities alongside the valuable technological and life skills gained in the making process.

Since 2004 the community aspect of VANLAND has grown and we now run workshops for people of any age group in rural Devon. We've instigated and run projects with older people aged 55+ and also cross age group collaboration in projects like Village Screen. VANLAND also works on commissions and has produced specialist film projects with CCANW at Haldon Forest Park, Bovey Youth Action Trust, Take Part Torbay Participation Project hosted by the Children's Society and SPLOSH! Torbay Arts Week amongst others. For more information about commissioning us for a project email contact@blindditch.org

"What did I get out of making this film? Meeting new people, getting along with each other... making friends!"
