During the half term holidays in February 2009, Pembroke Street Youth Project made Relay facilitated by Blind Ditch VANLAND project and PMZ. The young people researched, devised and made both the video and music for Relay based around their experience of the sounds and sites of Devonport and what’s important to them. The project was hosted by Pembroke St Youth Project centre supported by Mandi who also took these great photos of the young people working. Many thanks to assistant workshop facilitator Alice Human.

Relay was commissioned by Zest Arts for Health based in the Planning Department of Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust and working to improve healthcare environments across Plymouth. During 2008/9 Zest have commissioned four artists to bring art and design to the new Dental School and the Cumberland Centre at Devonport Health Campus. As part of this project they also wanted to work with members of the Devonport community to hear their stories of living in this part of the city.
